The Circassian Studies Monthly Seminar Series is a forthcoming online seminar programme hosted by the Center for Circassian Studies at IKRS. It will bring together researchers, graduate students, practitioners, community participants, and public-facing scholars to discuss current research, publications, archival questions, methodological issues, and contemporary developments in Circassian studies.
The seminar series is designed as a space for sustained intellectual exchange. It will support discussion across history, memory studies, genocide studies, diaspora studies, anthropology, political analysis, cultural studies, language, and public scholarship. Particular attention will be given to work that connects Circassian history and memory with broader debates on Russian imperialism, the North Caucasus, exile, recognition, and the politics of historical justice.
The series will include research presentations, book discussions, work-in-progress sessions, methodological conversations, and public lectures. It will also provide a platform for emerging scholars and community-based researchers whose work contributes to the development of Circassian studies as an interdisciplinary field.
